Reduce Stress to Aid Conception

According to recent studies, stress may contribute to up to 30% of fertility problems due to an increase in certain hormones. Reducing stress can help enhance proteins involved in fertility, as well as increase blood flow to the uterus.

Reducing stress can be crucial to increasing your chances of getting pregnant. Many women have found success using the following stress reduction techniques:

Treat yourself to a nice massage.

Gentle massage therapy can decrease signs of stress in your body, like your heart rate and brain waves. Not to mention, it’ll make you feel great!

Try acupuncture.

Recent studies conducted in Germany and published in the journal Fertility and Sterility revealed that it might have a positive effect on the reproductive system. If you’re comfortable with it, acupuncture could help your whole body feel more relaxed.

Make time for you.

Telling yourself not to be anxious is likely to cause even more stress. But if you make it a point to take time out of your day for yourself – to read, meditate or do something you love to do – you’ll feel more at ease and able to take your mind off of your worries.

Have sex for the fun of it, not just to TTC.

Sex can be a phenomenal stress reducer, but when you’re trying to conceive, sex can become a chore – but it doesn’t have to! Try making love to your partner or even just kissing passionately with no goals in mind, just to enjoy the moment and intimacy.

If you have your own methods of relaxation, make sure to incorporate them into your daily routine while you’re trying to conceive. Remaining calm just might be the key to a successful pregnancy.
